The one thing that they falsely advertise is "DVD quality". While it may record a certain pixel amount/frame ratio, the image is most definately NOT even close to DVD quality. It's not even close to a 3CCD video camera quality, and not close to the better regular chip cameras. The bottom line is that this is still a helmet cam and it has severe limitations in how well it can pick up an image. I looked at the RAW footage, and it looks a lot better than standard helmet cams. I don't know whether this is because standard footage I've seen is always poorly compressed and processed, and theirs is natively saved as DIVX. That is probably part of the reason.
One drawback is that the company keeps promising to relsease a Wide Angle lens. Last I checked it will be an extra cost option available around May.
Check out the vendor review: http://helmetcameracentral.com/2007/09/26/the-holy-grail-of-helmet-cams-the-new-vio-pov1-integrated-video-system/
The price is $650. It's not cheap, but it's not horrible. Rat, you know better how much 1 camera setup costs you and what kind of premium POV1 demands. BTW, this device is Waterproof. Is it worth it?
The problem with the price is that it is very borderline. An individual who doesn't specifically need a helmet cam or can get by without a certain camera shot might want to consider a real camera. Take a look at this toy:

At $800-$850 it is slightly more expensive, but you get a camera that will completely blow away the image any helmet cam can produce. It will not be even close. This camera will give you full 1080 hd and CMOS is known for great vibrant colors. The reason why I'm mentioning this camera as opposed to any of the other HD cameras is size.

It would be cool to make some sort of helmet mount/various moto mounts and try it out. I am considering going this route. Because it records to Sony Memory Stick, I am concerned about problems on that end.
Anyway, that's the result of my "internet research". I figured I would post before I forget about this product.
Opinions?
